Joy in Giving again...

We are fast approaching the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, or as the Goodson family calls it Thanksmas. Last November I told you about a holiday tradition that the kids and I have done since Karston was a little baby. We all work together on an original craft project for all the kids to give their aunt/uncles, grandparents, and family. The kids are learning the joy in giving something that they themselves have put time and effort into making while thinking of those that we love so much. When they give these gifts to the family, it is great for me to watch my children swell with pride over what they have done. We always make sure that they understand that we do this expecting nothing in return, but out of the joy of being able to give.

Two years ago we made snowmen for each family/person.
And last year the boys wrote a storybook for each person/family and I illustrated it with pictures.

But this year, what shall we do?

I have had a hard time with the brainstorming of ideas and the ability to get to the store to get supplies. We had so much fun personalizing the books last year and everyone loved their story so much. This year will be a bit different, but will still be from the kids and will still be something that everyone will like. So keep an eye out after the holidays are over to find out what this year's Joy in Giving will be.
