Philamer is "poised"

Philamer and her family are still in need of prayer. Thank you to everyone that reads this and speaks to our Lord on their behalf....

From Kathy:

Blessings to each of you! What a glorious day in the Lord! This week has been full of ups & downs .. the boys have asked if we could come up with another word for "stable" so we are getting out the Thesauraus tonight and finding more words for "stable"!! One minute we cry together and the next we are laughing and picking out wigs for her to wear (so far the red Wendy's pigtail wig is winning!!) but we are doing it together and with peace that can only come from God ... Philamers mothers heart is not giving up so we are not giving up on her! We are not in control of this situation in ANY regard so as long as she isn't giving up we are not giving up ... we know that God is the final authority and say in this matter so we continue to pray God's will be done here and give us the encouragement, peace & confidence to just walk this out daily in the Lord! God knows we don't want her in a vegetative state or with any type of damage that would prevent her from having quality of life with her boys and I don't believe we serve a God who would allow that to happen ... so as long as she is fighting to stay in here so are we! We are "prepared" for her to enter heaven but we are also prayerful that God will preform an absolute miracle and return her to us! So on THAT note here's the latest!.. .she was up & down yesterday so they tried a new medication on her to try and keep the ICP down (it kept going into the high teens & into the 20's). When I called around 1:30 a.m. last night they were taking her for a CT scan .. I asked her nurse if there was a problem and he said they were just concerned that they could not keep her ICP down so they wanted to make sure no other blood clots had occured .. I called again around 2:30 a.m. and she was resting ( no... I don't sleep but the boys always want a morning update before going to school so I have to get it at night as Gainesville is 2 hours ahead of us and I can't call during shift change... but I've lost 5 pounds so there is something else good coming from this!!.. only 90 more to go!!! ) .. they found no clots so its now a medication issue .. he told me they were probably going to put her into a "paralysis coma" through medication in order to get her brain waves very low in order to prevent ANY stimulation and therefore hopefully stablize the ICP's and CPP's... Rita (one of Philamers sisters) spoke with the hospital this morning and as of this morning they were making arrangements to put her into this coma and basically flat line her brain waves ... be praying for God's protection with this procedure... we are very blessed that Philamer is where she is .. this is a teaching hospital so they have the very best & newest techology available .. between all the prayers and this technology Philamer couldn't be in better hands. Her sisters are getting together this weekend to put together a list of questions for the neurosurgeon & staff regarding her prognosis / rehab / time frame / medications / treatments / etc so be praying God will give them wisdom on what to ask & favor with the surgeon regarding his answers ...I received a prayer shawl today from Momma Grace's church .. it is so beautiful .. we were planning to send it to Philamer but I spoke with the ICU nurses and they could not guarantee it would stay with Philamer due to the constant need to move her for testing & keeping her linens as clean as possible in order to prevent any infections so we are going to use the shawl to "cover" her children at night ... I have two bedrooms & a formal dining room that is now a bedroom..( NOW I know why I just couldn't find the right dinette set for that room after we bought our new home!!) ... that the boys are sharing so I'll cover each bed at night and alternate through them nightly so that each boy has the time to share the prayers & love that were put into this shawl ... this is just ONE of the many ways you have all blessed our family and ways that will never be forgotten!... you will truly never know how special you are to us .. even those of you that we don't know and may never meet personally .. you are a part of our lives and we look forward to meeting you in heaven & saying "thank you" to you in time as we all glorify our Lord & Savior together! ...unless I hear anything urgent I will not be updating over the weekend as I am spending some time with my family (my husband, 2 daughters, 2 sons & six boys!!... now THAT's a precious handful!!)... so keep your prayes going as that's our biggest need & please know that even if I haven't mentioned you or your group personally you are NOT forgotten & you are VERY special to my family .. we could not have done ANY of this without each & everyone of you! Blessings to each of you!
