Do you remember Holly Hobbie from your childhood? Well with the next generation comes a new Holly Hobbie...The vivacious young Holly, great granddaughter of legendary Holly Hobbie
Holly and her friends meet an elderly woman in their community who's house is about be destroyed to make way for the new railroad. The girls talk to the mayor of the town and ask for his help. He tells the girls he has tried to help, but unless someone comes up with a new idea there is nothing he can do. So the girls come up with that New Idea. They convince the Mayor to induct a new holiday called "Make a New Best Friend Day." On this day every year the community finds a new friend in the town that needs help and they all come together to help out. On the first "Make A New Best Friend Day," they all come together and help build a new home for the elderly woman that was in such need.
Watch this video of the girls singing about how everyone can make a difference when they work together.
Now remember how I told you this is a familiar message? Yes it is familiar. We have preached it, we have learned it, and we are living it. Here on Burton Street we look out for each other, our neighbors, our community. We may not have a holiday once a year that reminds us to help those in need, but we are always striving to be there for each other when there is a need: Neighbor helping Neighbor.

I will have to look into the new Hobby Holly. Did we ever see the old Holly's face?
I love that Alyssa likes Holly Hobbie. It is a nice break from the Disney and Nick Jr. stuff that she also likes to watch. I am looking into buying more of these movies.
As for Holly Hobbie's face? I couldn't find a picture of her face, but there are Holly Hobbie dolls with a generic face.
